About the artists: Jane Winterson was asked by MPRA to decorate this shad in its realistic colors to show people what a shad looks like in its natural coloration. She thought it would be a great way to teach her private art student, Elizabeth Mills about painting techniques. The result is a beautifully painter shad. Elizabeth is a student at West Point Elementary School and has participated in MPRA events since she was

born. Jane Winterson is an West Point artist known for her detailed watercolor paintings.

 

Description: On one side the shad is painted realistically using acrylic paint in its normal colors. The other is painted in the shad’s spawning coloration.
