Science Comes Alive at Hamilton-Holmes
The science classes at Hamilton-Holmes Middle School are participating in a program called “School of Shads”. Sponsored by the Mattaponi and Pamunkey River Association, “Schools of Shad” allows students to raise juvenile Shad fry in grow tanks in the classroom.
Shown pictured above are Cody Smith, Amanda Lassiter, and Chris Cumber preparing shrimp eggs to feed the shad fry. The shad will later be released at the Pamunkey Indian Fish Hatchery. Many thanks to the King and Queen Fish Hatchery for all its help in this project.
